I have actually never worn lenses in my life even though I have a prescription of around 1.25~1.5, I normally just settle with glasses when I need to.
Lenses have always been a bit intimidating for me because I have seen so many horror stories of infections and other horrible stuff as well as the high maintenance side of owning monthly or yearly disposable lenses.
After I overcame my reluctance I started researching some suitable beginners lenses and I came across the Geo Tricolor ones in Grey.
The specs for the lenses are as follows:
Diameter: 14.2mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.6mm
Life Span: 1 year disposal
They come with prescription and I got the 1.25 one for both eyes.
The diameter is relatively short for circle lenses which makes them super natural without that much of an enlarging effect. For me that was a plus because if they were any bigger than they were I would have struggled so much in putting them in.
The insertion process was difficult...it took me around 10 minutes to get them both in and it hurt like a little bitch. My eyes were full on watering and bloodshot after my attempts. Removing them was even harder as I had to physically squeeze my eyeballs to prompt them out.
After 3 practice sessions I finally wore them outside of the house and it was a great success! It really didn't hurt unless I was in the wind. I didn't carry any eye drops with me and it lasted for around 6 hours before I got home and removed them. It wasn't uncomfortable at all.
I would recommend these to anyone looking for a natural first time lens. I do think there should be more comfortable ones out there (maybe ones with a higher water content) but as of right now I only own this one pair so I cant make comparisons.
However! They were a bit blurry for me, I don't know if it was because I chose the wrong prescription or some other reason.
The procedure:
1.after purchasing these, pop them out of the little vials and place them in a contact case with contact solution for 6~8 hours!
2. Wash them with solution every time after using
3. Replace the solution in the cases every time after using
4. When not using the lenses, still replace and wash with solution at least once every month
Another tip for GEO lenses is that you should go to their authenticity website, type in the code written on the round sticker on the vial to find out if the lenses you have bought are authentic or not before using.
The solution I use:
